Teruel

Located in eastern Spain, about thousand metres above sea level, Teruel is a mountainous region which boasts an important historical heritage and a unique gastronomic culture: olive oil, ham, peaches and truffles are the quality products which this region has to offer, each with their own control board which guarantees the ‘designation of origin’ of the product.
In 1986, UNESCO declared the beautiful 12th century Mudéjar art of Teruel as a World Heritage Site. To this day Teruel continues to maintain its important medieval traditions by relying on some very special environmental conditions. Harsh winters within this cold and mountainous region provide favourable conditions for producing hams and other cured meats of unequalled quality and taste.
